Fixing wrong problems

Racing of horse cart about to start. There were  few participants in the race. Each one was equally eligible for winning the race. Race begin with a bullet shot. All participants picked up speed. Suddenly on of horse cart hit stone on the road and wheel went out. The cart was running slower now. Owner immediately decided to add 2 horses more. The race didn't went in his favour. He was shocked as earlier he was leading race, also he have not wasted time in decision when cart slowed down. He also observed horses were hurt and upset.

Here we all know that owner should have get wheels fixed. He thought slowness is caused by horse getting tired or underperforming. Where as problem was in design - missing wheel. He fixed wrong problem - horse's strength.

Are we doing same in real life? Let's think better to get right problem fixed than fast decision to fix wrong problem.

Favour to wife

you day after lunch in office I was washing tiffin. One of colleague was waiting for her turn in washing tiffins. The conversation started with being boy I am doing favour to my wife by doing such task. I was not agree to her point and went into long thought like I not only wash tiffin, I do help her as much as I can. Am I doing favour to her? No . Let's think of other side of story, she cooks food daily for us ,Is she doing favour? She takes care of daughter s study need. Is she doing favour? And most importantly she works to earn . she does favour? No . None of us do favour to others. In fact we all should try reduce burden of other as much as possible. Wife does not mean owner of household activities.
This leads to another thought, me and wife completed bachelor degree (although different fields). Then what rule makes her owner of cooking, cleaning, washing, grocery purchase, care for elderly. Well that does not mean its none of our business, lets hire maid for each task. This leads to different type of slavery. Anyways do as much as you can is golden rule I follow.
We always talk about male - female equality. That does not mean burden her with job and household activities and say I let my wife work. It could be better if you take of 50 % of her daily house hold workload.
I would say wife don't need favour as it is combine task.

Compare demolish joy

Every morning i start my day with reading news paper. Each day front page is covered by full page advertise. Most of them are from flipkart, snapdeal, paytm.. Etc. When i reach office, i see lots of people checking sites like carwale, flipkart. They do intense discussion about each newly launch car or mobile phones. Most sites i mentioned are aggregator sites. That means they provide platform between seller and buyer. These days almost every week new phone launch happens. The phone you purchased 3 months ago is considered outdated. As new mobile gives more feature in same price. I was lucky to use my last mobile for 5 years as Indians now changes their phone every 6 months.
Do we really gets benefits from aggregator sites? Is it worth to check all the offers daily? I would say it is not saving cost rather wasting precious time. It is too tempting to see 50% off and buy product. Actually we forget to check our needs or thinks this won't be this cheaper when we need it. It is very important to focus on needs. Best way of doing this is list down items you need e.g. food ingredients, books, etc. Then setup urgency , if you need medicine as you caught up with fever you have to buy that immediate without comparing. But you were checking medicine stock and found need to get more you can wait. Here you can actually compare prices and buy it.
How come comparison demolish joy here? Well, lets say you are all tuned up for performing exercise daily. You decided to buy new instruments for the same. Now your habit of comparing always thinks you would get cheaper than this. Well there is another reason too why you believe that you will find cheaper is economic changes , an year ago you had purchased same product in 40% less price than today's discounted price. So you keep your search on. Eventually you buy at almost same price but so late that you would have lost your enthusiasm of exercise.
Finally, Don't jump on offers, keep clean difference in your mind what you need vs what you desire. Don't waste money on desires, later on you may feel short of money for your needs.
